About the event

THE GOOD PLACE

2020 has indeed been a trying year for all of us! Navigating our emotions while we sail through unprecedented events, can be challenging, to say the least. Katharsis invites you to take some time out for reflection and processing of your own emotions. Contrary to popular belief, research over decades has shown that emotion regulation is a learned skill that can help us maintain and improve our mental health.

This workshop is for you if you would like to learn to manage your emotions better in a safe-space created by our psychologists. We will also be exploring emotions with respect to specific situations and assisting the participants to understand with real-life examples. The facilitators will be taking you through a guided body-based imagery which will be used to enhance the learning experience.

We invite you to join us for this workshop and pay what you can! (There's absolutely NO PRESSURE)

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Subiksha attained her degrees in psychology from P.S.G College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore and Christ University, Bangalore. She was driven to become a mental health professional after she witnessed the lack of a school counsellor in her high school. During her Masters, she worked as a counsellor in various educational spaces and briefly worked with marginalized communities. In her practice, she combines various therapeutic approaches to meet her clients' desired goal and deeply believes in their innate capacity to heal and grow. Subiksha is inclined to work towards the client's holistic welfare with the help of creative tools. Currently, she is pursuing a certification in Dance/Movement Therapy facilitation.

Somya is a passionate counselling psychologist and well-being advocate. She accomplished her education in psychology from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University and Christ University, Bangalore. Apart from practicing as a therapist, she is also advancing her training in the field of Dance/Movement Therapy facilitation. Having formerly worked as a school counsellor, Somya's expertise lies in working with children and helping them adjust around the school ecosystem. Some of her spheres of competence include management of socio-emotional issues like anxiety, mood swings, adjustment to life transitions, relationship issues and personal development. Somya adopts an eclectic, holistic and creative approach in her therapeutic practice.
